Hey, this is for those of you who have transportation and want to hang with other anime fans more often than the club meets. Enjoy.

AnimeFest 2009 Online Registration Open / Friday Night Gaming
A couple of quick notes before I run out the door to go to OwlCon in Houston (Houston members, stop by and say hi!)
* Sorry for the server outages over the past couple months. It's a long story, but basically our Internet provider didn't pay their bill, thus causing their Internet provider to cut off their service and thus ours. (Don't ask me to fix that sentence!) Those responsible have been sacked. We have also been having occasional lockups of the server which take a day for me to get downtown and reboot the server. May have to replace some hardware soon. Blah, blah, blah... AnimeFest is alive and well.
* Online registration for AF2009 is now available! Since we had so much down-time I have extended the $25 pre-reg membership price until the end of February. Pre-reg today and save your money for the dealer room!!!
* I'm determined to have more stuff going on at the AF Clubhouse in Richardson. Here are the details:
1. It looks like the SDF/3WA Anime Club http://www.angelfire.com/anime2/sdf3wa/index.html may be moving towards having two showings per month. We're trying to figure out what dates/times would be best, but we should make a decision by next week.
2. The Clubhouse is a great location for gaming and I'd rather avoid traffic by stopping at the Clubhouse on Friday nights instead of going home. So.... I'm starting up Friday Game Night from 6pm-Midnight MOST (but not every) week!! We're planning Classic BattleTech and D&D RPGA Living Forgotten Realms games, plus we would love for some of our gamer members to step forward to run other games. We're considering investing in some table-top terrain sets for the miniature games. I'd like it to be the best place to game in DFW. Please let me know in the forums what we should do to make that happen! Our first Friday Game Night is (appropriately) Friday the 13th of February.
3. The Texas Metroplex Cosplay Coalition is planning to have several meetings at the Clubhouse and may make it a regular meeting location. http://www.texplexcc.com/
With all of this it looks like there will be events at the Clubhouse almost every weekend. Oh, one other big announcement: I've updated the Clubhouse page to allow for event registration. This will allow you to sign up for the games, anime showings, etc... that happen at the Clubhouse. Also, this same system will be used to allow you to sign up for events at AF2009. You will be able to sign up for panels, games, main events, etc... and print a personalized convention schedule. Signing up for most events (except gaming) won't actually reserve you a seat, but will let us know (in advance) which events may need extra seating.

That's it for now. You should start seeing regular updates from us in the next few weeks. Please make sure you visit the forums and let us know who/what you want to see at AF2009!!!!
